Two almost-lovers in a cafe
Sitting, sipping their coffee
Neither one, with a thing to say
Just want to break through the silence
To breach your heart without violence
Yet the buffer's a comfort
Cuz I can't make the words form
I open my mouth, and they just die away
So I bury them, in the scalding black sea
Burning my tongue, but it's worth it since it's hiding the
Dread that I feel, while your pupils are piercing me
Cooling drinks, rising panic
This wasn't how either had planned this to go
An indoor-mimeatic pinic, under a monochrome-rainbow
I can see it in his eyes, he'll never understand
It was naive to think we could avoid entanglement
If I had know that we would grow so attached
Would I have done things any different
When could I have called it quits, to save him from this pain
Where should I have drawn the line between friend and companion
Did I blur the lines for my own gain
Can he learn to forgive my fickle heart
An uncalled check lay between them
One last chance to flee the scene
Before they must strike one another with clarity
'I'll get it'
'Are you sure'
'It's not a problem'
'Alright, if you insist'
